For the next week, 3-12 Oct, Guy Combes and I were hosted by Wendy and Guy, and by Dale Anderson from Project Survival. Project survival set up time for us to spend with Tango (ambassador cheetah) and the other ambassadors at Cat Haven, a trip to Animal Ark in Reno with opportunity to see their cheetahs run and to resupply crafts. Animal Ark is a small facility outside of Reno where three cheetahs are a part of the collection. They have a large area set up with a lure course and viewing area where they give the public an opportunity to watch three cheetahs run at top speed.

In Fresno, we were met by Donna Wykstra and Brenda Tuttle. On the evening of 8th I gave a presentation to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo staff and volunteers. The Zoo supplied a grant to ACK earlier in the year and craft sales at the talk gave us additional funding.

Additionally we visited the World Handcrafts store near Fresno to resupply their crafts as well.

On Saturday the 10th Project Survival brought the cheetah and a bobcat to the Hans Estate Vineyard for their member event. The Hans donated to ACK and allowed us to promote our work through craft sales. It was another opportunity to provide awareness of the plight of Kenya’s cheetahs and to promote CaLL.
